It was recently discovered that Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) had been used in the construction of some parts of Camberley Theatre. Subsequently, a series of inspections have been carried out to assess the condition of this material and we are exposing the remaining areas to be inspected. We are currently closed to carry out these works and will reopen on Sunday 5th May. Customers who had tickets for performances between 15th April and 4th May have been contacted via email regarding the new performance dates.
It has now been agreed that we will carry out remediation works to some areas of the building. This will ensure that these areas remain safe into the future and are easy to monitor and manage. To complete these works safely, we will need to close the venue as it will cause disruption to customer areas. It is planned for this work to take place from August to November 2024.
If you have tickets for a show within the closure period, those performances will not go ahead as planned. We are working to reschedule all shows and tickets will remain valid for the new dates. We will contact customers for each show once we have confirmed new performance date. If you can make the new date, you don't need to do anything.
