About the Role
The Camberley Theatre is seeking a part-time Senior Venue Technician who will support the technical operation of performances and events at Camberley Theatre, alongside the full-time Senior Venue Technician. This includes discussing all technical requirements with incoming companies/hirers, the planning, preparing and testing of in-house technical systems and the operations of the equipment during performances, events and hires. The role includes responsibility for scheduling and overseeing casual staff, ensuring health and safety standards are strictly adhered to and events are run safely, efficiently and to a high standard. At Camberley Theatre, we pride ourselves on an excellent reputation with touring companies, underpinned by a can-do attitude and a knowledgeable team. Shifts will vary across daytime, evening, weekdays and weekends and it is imperative that applicants have good availability to accommodate this kind of shift pattern.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a polite manner with a calm and professional attitude. You must be competent and skilled in operation of all technical theatre equipment and systems and be able to train other staff or hirers in safe operation. You will have previous experience of working in a technical department of a regional, receiving house theatre, and the ability to work with community organisations and youth groups as well as professional touring companies. Excellent communication skills are imperative and you should have the ability to discuss and recommend technical solutions in conversation with people of varying technical ability/knowledge. You will have a desire to deliver an excellent customer and client experience and the technical ability and interpersonal skills to do so.

Offers are usually made at the lower end of the salary band allowing for progression.
